The Junior High Boys soccer team traveled to Lebanon Saturday morning for the conference tournament. Despite a goal by Andrew Catillo and Jackson Linton, the stars were defeated by Lebanon by a score of 2-4. Hernan Trincado had 9 saves and Timothy Walker had 2. The defense of Fritz Heine, Declan Avila, Maison Lutz, Nathan Lester, Evan Washburn, and Joseph Boddicker played solid the whole game. Wyatt Parris and Crosby Kinsler showed some of their foot skill in the middle. Ryan McCormick had the unique job of marking one of the Lebanon players throughout the game. The entire team would like to say thank you to Brammer Lasley who had some of the worst luck this season. A hamstring injury and then an illness prevented him from playing except in the 2nd Southmont game when he helped us get the victory. But Brammer showed up to practices and games and did everything he could to help the team. He kept a good attitude and continued to encourage his teammates. We're sorry he didn't get to play much this year but we're very excited to see what he can do next year. Coach Walker would like to thank the 3 captains, Nathan Lester, Hernan Trincado, and Declan Avila. Great job showing leadership this season. Coach Walker would also like to thank assistant coach Jason Lester for his example, leadership, and dedication to Western Boone soccer. The Stars ended with a record of 3-7 this year. The JH girls show tremendous improvement on the season as they tried to avenge a 9-0 loss from the regular season with no opportunities on frame. Today we lost 3-0 with only 1 in the second half and with opportunities of shots on goal. The team was building up from the back and playing two-way soccer rather than dribbling through or passing through players. It all was clicking. That’s a wrap on 2024 soccer!
