Stars split with Brebeuf Jesuit in Varsity Swim

The Western Boone Swim team hosted Brebeuf Tuesday evening and the girls team started the meet with a win in the 200 Medley Relay with the team of Jenna Twitty, Eisley Whitely, Joan Gearheart, and Evie Maurath. Eisley Whitely placed 2nd in the 200 Free, and Evie Maurath took 3rd in the 50 Free. Joan Gearheart placed 1st in diving and 1st in the 100 Free with a new season best time of 1:05.55. The team of Rebecca Rustin, Kyndal Dickerson, Rylee Pelley and Eisley Whitely placed 1st in the 200 Free Relay, and in the 100 Backstroke Kyndal Dickerson placed 2nd and Jailie Torp took 3rd. The girls finished the evening with a loss to Brebeuf and a final score of 61-114. The boys team started their night off with a 2nd place finish in the 200 Medley Relay with the team of Jacob Norman, Liam Whitely, Isaac Threlkeld, and Zach Connors. Jacob Norman won 1st place in the 200 IM with a new season best time of 2:16.51, and Ethan Barnett took 3rd. In the 50 Free Zach Connors won 2nd place with a new season best time of 25.55, Jonny Rutherford took 3rd with a new season best time (26.95), Eli Bishop had a new season best time (28.33), and Wes Redman had a new season best time (31.79). Xander Rouse placed 1st in Diving with a score of 187.95, and Malachi Catterson took 2nd in the 100 Butterfly. In the 100 Free Jacob Norman placed 1st, Zach Connors took 3rd, and Wes Redman had a new season best time (1:14.42). Ethan Barnett swam for 1st place in the 500 Free with a new season best time of 5:50.83, Henry Biggs won 2nd place with a new season best time of 5:51.99, and Alex Crockett took 3rd with a new season best time (5:57.49). The boys took 1st place in the 200 Free Relay as well as the 400 Free Relay. Artie Milliser crushed the competition and won 1st place in the 100 Backstroke with a new season best time of 1:13.59. The boys finished their evening with a win over Brebeuf and a final score of 107-64.
