Frankfort: The Lady Stars battle conference rival Frankfort on Friday night, coming away with a solid 53-24 Senior Night victory. The Stars came out focused and ready to go, playing solid basketball on both ends of the court. The Lady Stars moved the basketball around well on offense, scoring 36 points in the first half. On the defensive end, the Stars continued with the intensity, holding Frankfort to only 10 points in the first half. As the game continued in the second half, the Lady Stars worked the basketball around offensively, allowing a lot of players to contribute points on the board for the team. The Stars did a great job of playing as a team and staying composed despite the physicality of the game to come away with a win. The Lady Stars were led in scoring by Ki'erra Koch with 14 points, followed by Lili Jones and Carlie Pennington who each added 8 points. Thank you to our awesome six seniors for their dedication to the program. This group of seniors are great leaders and represent the Lady Stars well in their positive attitudes, character, and integrity. Thank you Saige, Lili, Carlie, Katheryn, Emmy, and Rylie for your lasting impact on the program! North Putnam The Lady Stars matched up against the North Putnam Cougars on Saturday, earning a hard fought 56-35 win. The Stars battle hard on the defensive end from the start of the game, only allowing North Putnam six points in the first quarter. As the first half progressed, the Stars started to figure out their offensive game, going into halftime with 26 points. The solid play on both ends of the court continued into the second half, as the Stars played great team basketball with many players stepping up and contributing in various ways. The Lady Stars were led in scoring by Katheryn Rutherford with a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds, followed by Emmy Roys with a double-double of 16 points and 15 rebounds. The Stars are back in action on Tuesday as they take on Attica. Go Lady Stars! The JV Lady Stars travelled to North Putnam Saturday morning for a tough game of basketball. Although they struggled against the press, the Stars stayed within striking distance going into the half down 14 to 22. With moments of offensive activity, Webo closed the gap to four points but ultimately fell 35 to 42. It was, however, a great effort by everyone that stepped on the court, always proving that this team will not give up.
