Western Boone recognized their Seniors as they played host to the Lebanon Tigers for the final regular-season dual for both teams. The Tigers won the final match 42-25. "It is a good match-up and a good county rivalry," Lebanon head coach Jacob King said. "WeBo is well coached with good kids, so it was good for a final dual to come here and wrestle well and get a win under our belts going into the sectional." For Western Boone, coming off their first conference title in more than 30 years on Saturday, it was good to get another chance to compete before the sectional. While they didn't get the win, head coach Wes Mikesell said there were a lot of positives the Stars can take heading into the sectional. "We wrestled tough, but Lebanon was the better team tonight," he said. "They were able to capitalize on some of our mistakes, but we came out and wrestled hard - which is all you can ask for." The two teams had met in a dual earlier this year at the WeBo Duals, and had some crossover match-ups on Saturday at conference. Both teams moved their line-up around on Thursday, which created several different match-ups from the previous events. King and Mikesell said it was good to see some different match-ups. "You never like to see a team three or four times a year and get the same match-ups," King said. "It worked out well that way - we had some different match-ups and the some of the ones that were the same it shows us how we have grown in throughout the year." The match itself came down the final few weight classes. Western Boone's Kameron Mikesell won by pin at 165 to bring the Stars to within 30-25 with two matches to go, but Lebanon secured the last two matches to go on and win. Jackson Bloss (106), Isaac Moore (120), Isaiah Garland (138) and Broden Wilson (157) picked up wins for the Stars. "That was a good win for Jackson," Mikesell said. "He lost to that kid at the WeBo Duals, so he's been wanting another shot at him. We missed it at conference, but he came out tonight and capitalized on his chance." Western Boone will head to the Crawfordsville Sectional. "We have to fine tune our technique," Mikesell said. "We are still making little mistakes that will hurt us in the long run."
