Stars host tough Brebeuf swim team after successful weekend

The Western Boone swimmers and divers faced Brebeuf on Tuesday night in their first meet after Conference. Both teams fell to the opponent. The final score for the girls was 103-77. Starting off the meet was the medley relay team of Jenna Twitty, Micah Hole, Hannah Hayden, and Katherine Aliff finishing in third. The team of Lilly Maners, Rebecca Rustin, Annabelle Mickschl, and Brooklynn Schiery finished fifth. In the 200-yard freestyle, Samantha Jones and Kaitlyn Crowley finished second and third respectively, followed by Lindsey Steimel in sixth. Twitty and Mickschl finished third and fifth respectively in the 200-yard IM. Adelaide Jones took second in the 50-yard freestyle; Aliff and Maners took fifth and sixth. Leelah Fettig remains undefeated in diving, winning with a score of 216.40; Cara Hanna finished second with a score of 152.55. Stieber took her first win of the evening in the 100-yard butterfly; Hayden placed fourth and Steimel finish sixth. Rashel Anderson, Aliff, and S. Jones finished second, third, and fourth in the 100-yard freestyle. A. Jones finished second in the 500-yard freestyle; Crowley finished fourth; Rustin finished sixth. The girls earned another win in the 200-yard freestyle thanks to the team of Anderson, S. Jones, Stieber, and A. Jones. The team of Hayden, Twitty, Steimel, and Crowley also finished fourth. Schiery, Mickschl, Micah Hole, and Maners took fifth. In the 100-yard backstroke, Anderson and Twitty took second and third. Stieber earned her second individual win of the evening in the 100-yard breaststroke, followed by Hole in fifth and Rustin in sixth. Rounding out the meet with a second-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay was the team of Aliff, Anderson, A. Jones, and Stieber. The team of Steimel, Crowley, Hayden, and S. Jones took fourth and the team of Mickschl, Rustin, Maners, and Hole finished sixth. The boys ended the meet with a final score of 115-60. The medley relay team of Jacob Norman, Jude Balke, Tanner Weakley, and Isaac Threlkeld finished in third place, followed in fourth place by the team of Ethan Barnett, Zach Connors, Malachi Catterson, and Artie Milliser. In the 200-yard freestyle, Norman finished second, Wyatt Barnett took fourth, and Daniel Talbott finished fifth. Weakley took second in the 200-yard IM, followed by Balke in fourth and Catterson in fifth. Threlkeld, Chase Collier, and Andrew Johnson finished third, fourth, and fifth respectively in the 50-yard freestyle. Xander Rouse finished first in diving with a score of 157.25. Weakley took second place in the 100-yard butterfly; Catterson finished fourth. Threlkeld placed second in a close 100-yard freestyle race; E. Barnett finished fourth and Connors took fifth in the event. Talbott, W. Barnett, and Collier finished third, fourth, and fifth. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of W. Barnett, Norman, Weakley, and Threlkeld placed second, followed in fourth by Balke, Collier, Johnson, and Talbott. Norman finished third in the 100-yard backstroke; E. Barnett finished fifth. Balke and Connors finished fourth and fifth respectively in the 100-yard breaststroke. Ending the meet with a third-place finish was the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Connors, Talbott, E. Barnett, and W. Barnett; the team of Catterson, Milliser, Johnson, and Isaac Garringer finished fourth.
