The Lady Stars hit the court Monday night for a make-up game against the Monrovia Bulldogs, and it was a battle from start to finish. The Stars came out firing, with Isla Stokes delivering three consecutive assists to Ally Lewis, who made back-to-back-to-back layups on backdoor cuts against the Bulldogs’ man-to-man defense. Ally was on fire, scoring 9 of the team’s 11 points in the first quarter. By the time the buzzer sounded, the game was tied heading into the second quarter. The second quarter was all about defense, with both teams locking down and refusing to give up an inch. Olivia Reagan dominated the boards, grabbing four rebounds to keep the Stars in the fight. Despite their efforts, the Stars trailed the Bulldogs 19-18 at halftime in a nail-biter of a game. The Bulldogs came out of halftime with full momentum, opening the third quarter with a 13-0 run. But the Stars weren’t about to back down. Isabella Grady came off the bench and sparked the offense with a quick two-point basket. Isla Stokes and Jaylee Dickerson kept the comeback alive, each sinking clutch three-pointers to cut the deficit to just five points. In the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs managed to pull away, sealing the victory, but the Lady Stars left everything on the court and didn’t let defeat dampen their spirits. They’ll take the floor again Friday night against the North Montgomery Chargers for Senior Night. Come support the team as they honor their seniors and fight for another victory! The JV Girls Basketball team hosted Monrovia for their last home game of the season and it was a fight from the tip off until the very end.  The Stars took the first quarter by three points but traded baskets in the second to end the half up 21 to 18.  Momentum shifted in the third quarter and the Bulldogs went up by two points, but the Stars fought back and hit key free throws to end the night with the win 43 to 41.  Every member of this team stepped up to the challenge and contributed offensively and defensively.  The JV Lady Stars will finish their season Thursday at North Montgomery.
