Clinton Central traveled to Western Boone Wednesday evening with a depleted team. The Bulldogs only brought ten players combined from their seventh and eighth grade teams and forced a combined squad junior high game. The Stars decided to send their seventh grade team out to start the game. Ady Nicley wasted no time in lighting up the Bulldogs. The Stars ran an efficient offense allowing Nicley to connect on three first quarter three pointers. The eighth grade took the court for the second quarter looking to build on the the seventh grade's momentum. The Stars 1-3-1 defense forced several turnovers. Mady Monks had a pair of buckets in the quarter and continued to be a force on the offensive glass, capturing several rebounds. In a lopsided game, Western Boone slowed the pace and worked on running their offense in the second half. Ashton Pelley caught fire in the fourth quarter. Connecting on a few mid-range jump-shots and a pair of transition layups. The combined junior high team defeated Clinton Central by a final score of 55-7. Nicley led the team with twenty points. Pelley finished the night with ten. Rounding out the Stars scoring: Cadence Paris seven, Bryar King six, Brooklyn Wagner, Molly Rausch and Mady Monks each chipped in four. The Stars travel to SouthMont next Monday for a conference matchup.
