The Lady Stars matched up against the Lebanon Tigers in the first round of sectionals on Tuesday night, playing hard but falling short of the victory by a score of 36-47. The Stars came out focused and ready to go, playing with heart and intensity from the moment the clock started. The Lady Stars played aggressively on both ends of the court but struggled to hit their jump shots and finish layups. The Stars went into halftime only down two points and did their best to regroup and refocus to improve in the second half. Quick turnovers and missed offensive opportunities put the Stars down 11 points going into the fourth quarter. The Lady Stars turned it around, starting out the fourth quarter with a few quick buckets and great defense. In the end, missed shots, late fouls, and the Tigers' fast-paced offense prevented the Stars from closing the scoring gap. The team was led in scoring by Emmy Roys and Katheryn Rutherford who each added 8 points, followed by Lili Jones and Ila Stokes who each contributed 7 points. The Lady Stars finished their season with a 16-7 record. The Stars would like to thank everyone who supported them throughout the season. Go Stars!
