The varsity girls tennis team defeated McCutcheon Thursday in a close 3-2 match. 1S Isabel Adams and 2S Abby Brunty were defeated in straight sets, but 3S Jade Strong was able to claim the first point of the day for the Stars with a straight set win. 2D Grace Maners/Paige Armstrong then won 6-3 in the first set and pulled off a close tiebreaker win in the second. With the match tied at 2-2, it came down to 1D Janie Ransom/Olivia Smith, who won in three close sets to seal the team win. The varsity team is now 2-0 on the season. The JV team came up a bit short with a 2-3 loss. 1D Cami Baird/Mallory Hayden and 2D Ashtyn Wagner/Jacee Gaines all secured good wins, but the Stars lost all three singles spots (two by way of tiebreaker). The JV team is now 1-1. The Stars will host Attica Tuesday at 4:30.
