Boys Swim team finished 5th at Sectionals

CRAWFORDSVILLE - The Western Boone boys swimming and diving team finished their season with a fifth-place finish at the Crawfordsville Sectional. The Stars scored 214 points in the meet. Crawfordsville won with 399 points. In the medley relay, the Stars team of Jacob Norman, Jude Balke, Tanner Weakley and Isaac Threlkeld placed sixth in 1:53.52. Norman was sixth in the 200-free in a time of 1:58.94 and Threlkeld was fifth in the 50-free in 23.79. Threlkeld was also fourth in the 100-free in a time of 52.89. Western Boone freshman Xander Rouse advanced to the diving regional, placing fourth at the sectional with a score of 317.45. Rouse will compete in the diving regional at Plainfield on Tuesday, Weakley placed third in the 100-butterfly in a time of 57.91, the best finish for a Star on the day. The 200-free relay team of Daniel Talbott, Wyatt Barnett, Tanner Weakley and Isaac Threlkeld placed sixth in 1:40.87. Weakley was sixth in the 100-backstroke in a time of 1:02.63 and Norman was seventh in the event in 1:03.14. In the 400-free relay, the Western Boone team of Zach Connors, Ethan Barnett, Wyatt Barnett and Norman placed seventh in 3:51.52. Will Willems is the Sports Editor of the Lebanon Reporter.
