Lady Stars split with Lawrence North in preparation for Conference Championship

The Western Boone Lady Stars traveled to the Northeast side of Indianapolis to take on the Lady Wildcats of Lawerence North in a double header. In game 1 the Wildcats posted 7 runs in the second inning which turned out to be enough as they held the Stars to 3 runs to take the win7-3. Ally Lewis got the start and pitched a complete game allowing 7 earned runs on 7 hits, 4 walks and striking out 7. The Stars offense plated 3 runs on 7 hits of their own. Kenzlei Mathews and Raina Lutz mustered two hits each in the loss one of which was Lutz’s 6th homerun of the season. In game two Mickey Burns got the start and she also pitched a complete game giving up 4 earned runs on 8 hits with 3 walks and 6 strikeouts. The Stars plated 9 runs to earn the win 9-4, the offense showed balance throughout the lineup with 7 different stars recording 7 base hits, Mathews had 3 RBIs and Lewis had 2 RBIs to lead the Stars to the win. The Stars will be back in action Monday with a double header as they head to New Market to take on the Southmont Lady Mounties in the final Sagamore Conference matchup of the season.
