DOVER - The Western Boone softball team lost to Brownsburg 7-1 on Monday night. Western Boone took a 1-0 lead in the second inning. Morganne Grant walked with one out and then advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt. After moving to third on a wild pitch, she scored on another wild pitch to make it 1-0. Brownsburg scored four runs in the third on back-to-back one-out doubles, then added two unearned runs in the fourth. Western Boone got two on with two outs in the sixth, but couldn't capitalize. Emma Shirley was 1-for-3 with a triple and a walk. Grant was 1-for-2 with a walk and Mickayla Naanos was 1-for-3 and Emily Conyer was 1-for-4. Emma Hosfield reached twice on two walks. Gabby Lewis struck out five in the circle. Western Boone hosts North Montgomery for a double-header on Wednesday. Will Willems is the Sports Editor of the Lebanon Reporter.
