JH Stars continue to impress with win over Warriors

The Western Boone Junior High Softball A team posted another win last night as they traveled to face conference rival Danville last night invoking the run rule 15-4 after 5 innings. The Stars were lead at the plate by Addi Lee going 3 for 3 on the evening and scoring 4 times. Ally Lewis, Kenzlei Mathews, Taylor Schornhorst and Mickey Burns also added multiple hits of their own to the offense. Burns got the start on the mound going 4 and 1/3 innings after which Lewis in relief recorded the final 2 outs of the 5-inning contest. Burns allowed 3 earned runs on 6 hits, 0 walks while striking out 2, Lewis allowed no earned runs on zero hits, 1 walk and 1 strikeout. The B team also was in action last night at Danville but came up short in a 13-6 ballgame. Shauna Hitch posted the only hit of the evening for the Stars with other notables being Navaeh Turner getting an RBI on her first at bat of the season. Both teams will be back in action this evening to the complete the series hosting Danville with a 5:45 start for the A game and the B game to follow at 7pm approximately.
