Last Monday the Red Jr. high baseball team played at Lebanon and came away with 5-0 victory. It was a wonderful game for the boys as the Stars displayed great offense and defense. The team had 10 hits in the game lead by Velazquez who was 4 for 4; Kiplinger was 2 for 4; Nance was 1 for 2; Westerfield was 1 for 4 with 2 RBI. The team had a strong pitching performance from Westerfield who went 5 innings on 71 pitches and 8 strikeouts. Nance came in and pitched 2 innings on 39 pitches and 4 strikeouts. The JH baseball team fell to Danville on Thursday night by a score of 9-5. It was a rough start as the Stars gave up 8 runs on 7 errors in the first two innings. The boys calmed down, continued to fight and started playing some good baseball, but not enough to overcome the early blunders. Rausch had 1 hit with 2rbi; Velazquez had 1 run; Westerfield scored 2; Adkins scored 2; Foster pitched 2 innings 52 pitches; Oakley pitched 2 innings on 42 pitches; and Kiplinger 2 innings on 27 pitches.
