Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

The Western Boone Stars golf team participated in the Southmont Invitational Saturday morning and came home with some hardware. Playing in blustery conditions that saw an ever-changing wind direction, tough course conditions and even a light rain/sleet mix at times, the team put forth a steady and focused effort to shoot 359 and take home third. For the most part, each golfer was also able to rebound from any setbacks and answer with a steady run of holes to recover along the way. Levi LaGrange's season low 82 earned him third overall individually. Isaiah Grady and Luke Barta backed up their season best performances from last week and showed that they are still driving toward lower numbers each time out. They both shot 92. Marcus Stepp had another good day, rounding out the scoring with his 93 and Damian Stout put forth another consistent effort at 96. The Stars will face Sheridan and Clinton Prairie at Cool Lake tonight, then will be looking to manage a nine-day break in matches.
