The Western Boone Lady Stars Junior High Softball A team got back to their winning ways last night shutting out the Lady Bruins of Tri-West 3-0. Ally Lewis took the mound, and the right hander went 4 and 1/3 innings giving up 0 runs on 1 hit and striking out 9 before Mickey Burns came in to close down the threat in the top of the 5th inning by recording the final two outs with bases loaded. The Stars were led at the plate by Lewis going 3 for 3 on the evening, Taylor Schornhorst, Maddy Monks and Burns also recorded hits during the contest. The B team dropped their game last night to the Bruins 14-2, Shauna Hitch led the Stars at the plate hitting a double in the 2 inning eventually scoring on a past ball. Both teams will be back in action Monday as they travel to North Montgomery to take on the Lady Chargers with 5:30 start for the A team, B game to follow.
