Western Boone sent their Varsity Baseball team to Cascade Friday evening. The Cadets took victory overcoming the Stars 11-2. Five pitchers threw for the Stars, freshman Luke Cummins and Junior Logan Walker pitched one complete inning each and were the only pitchers to not allow a run during their time on the mound. The Stars did a good job of putting the ball in play, but the Cadets played a great defensive game and that resulted in the Stars earning just six hits. Carter Marcum and Cole Wiley both provided two hits each. The game got away early due to a 5 run first inning by the Cadets. The Stars kept fighting and played a competing game innings 2-7. Monday the boys head to Speedway to face a Sparkplug team who is currently in first place in their conference with an 8-0 conference record. Tuesday and Wednesday won’t find the Stars without great competition as they take on Crawfordsville this week in conference. The boys will end the week with a Friday night match up against Hamilton Heights.
