Western Boone Varsity Stars weathered a scare by Crawfordsville Athenians Varsity in the third inning where Western Boone Varsity Stars coughed up four runs, but Western Boone Varsity Stars still won 19-5 on Wednesday. The big inning for Crawfordsville Athenians Varsity came thanks to singles by Christina Susdorf and Bailey Crane. Western Boone Varsity Stars fired up the offense in the first inning. Gabby Lewis's sac fly scored two runs for Western Boone Varsity Stars. Western Boone Varsity Stars put up seven runs in the fourth inning. Mickayla Naanos, Morganne Grant, Makenzie Amich, Emma Hosfield, Emily Conyer, and Lewis each had RBIs in the frame. Conyer pitched Western Boone Varsity Stars to victory. The pitcher surrendered five runs on five hits over five innings, striking out four. Olivia Hedrick was on the rubber for Crawfordsville Athenians Varsity. The righty surrendered 14 runs on 13 hits over four innings, striking out one. Crane threw one inning out of the bullpen. Western Boone Varsity Stars saw the ball well today, racking up 15 hits in the game. Amich, Naanos, Lewis, Conyer, and Kale Conner all had multiple hits for Western Boone Varsity Stars. Amich went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Western Boone Varsity Stars in hits.
