Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

The Junior softball A team came up with a no contest last night as they tied the Lady Mounties of Southmont. Mickey Burns got the start going 3 innings allowing 3 unearned runs on 4 hits walking 3 and striking out 6. Ally Lewis came in striking out the final 3 batters. The Stars wee able to plate 3 runs of their own last night on hits by Kenzlei Mathews, Ashlyn Foster, Lewis and Burns. The B team again showed improvement but had one bad inning to lose 13-2. Kenzlei Mathews pitched well allowing 3 earned runs on 4 hits, 4 walks and striking out 9. The Stars were lead at the plate by Kensley Blankenship going 2 for 2 while CJ Paris, Murryn Sturgis, Shawna Hitch and Layna Zigler also had hits in the contest. Both teams will be back at it as they host the Lady Eagles of Zionsville Monday May 8th, A game 5:30 start, B game to follow.
