The Western Boone Boys Golf Team was back in action last night at Cool Lake Golf Club hosting Tri-West. Beautiful weather and nearly ideal conditions were a welcome sight after a nine-day lay-off that saw tough practice conditions in the rain, wind and cold. The Stars would prove they were more than ready to get back at it as they would see three players break 40, while establishing yet another nine-hole season low team score, this time at 158. Levi LaGrange once again set the bar with his 36, but Marcus Stepp (38) and Luke Barta (39) joined him under 40 as they keep seeing gains in their games. Damian Stout was once again solid and consistent, finishing the scoring with his 45. Isaiah Grady turned in another solid 49. Despite the great night, the Stars did still come up just two strokes short of the Bruins 156. Though the JV team wasn't officially scored, the group of Evan Terwiske, Jaice Butler, Maddex Gadbury, Luke LaGrange and Evan Koch produced what would have been an overall score of 193, also setting a season low for their team score. The Stars will be busy, with one JV and three varsity matches this coming week, as they prepare for the conference tournament next Saturday.
