The Jr. High Baseball Blue Stars faced off against the Clinton Prairie Gophers on Monday night in an exciting game that went all 7 innings. The offense came out on fire. Aiden Lester got the ball rolling with a liner to the outfield. Noah Cole followed suit with a single of his own, bringing Levi Hayden to the plate. Levi, who has been crushing the ball, continued his hard-hitting ways, launching a 3-run blast over the right-centerfield fence, putting the Stars on top 3-0. Noah Cole was a force on the mound in his 3 innings of work, holding the Gophers to 2 runs, while striking out 8. The Stars would go on to score 3 more runs in the third, making it 6-2. But those pesky Gophers continued to chip away and when the dust had settled it was 9-6 in favor of Clinton Prairie. On the day the WEBO offense had several stars. Aiden Lester went 1 for 2, with a hit, a stolen base, a run scored, and 2 walks. Noah Cole was 2 for 3 with 2 hits and 2 runs scored. Levi Hayden added to his Home Run, going 2 for 3 with a walk, 2 runs scored and 3 RBIs. Jacob Collins was 1 for 2 with a walk and a run scored. And Andres Morales rounded things out going 1 for 2, with a walk and 2 RBIs. Charlie Jones and Timothy Boddicker worked in relief on the mound and each fired 2 strikeouts. Owen Young made his Jr. High debut on the mound, firing a pair of strikeouts as well. The Jr. High Blue Stars continue their road trip, heading to Southmont on Wednesday night to take on the Mounties. Go Stars! Go!
