Last night, the Lady Stars took on Speedway and, after a rocky start, came back with fire to claim the win! The first set was a tough one—our team didn’t quite show up with the energy and precision we’re known for, allowing Speedway to slip past us with a narrow 26-24 victory. But true to form, the Stars didn’t stay down for long. With a quick mental reset, the team stormed back onto the court and dominated the next two sets—winning 25-11 and 15-6. As the match progressed, our communication sharpened, our teamwork tightened, and we played the kind of Western Boone volleyball we all love to see. 🌟 Player of the Game: Phoebe Bruder Phoebe recently made the move from defense to outside hitter, and she’s thriving in her new role. Her height, timing, and instincts are making a major impact at the net, delivering some killer hits. Her serving was equally impressive leading the team with 5 aces and single-handedly securing the final 5 points of the second set. Speedway had no answer for her powerful serves, many of which dropped untouched. We’re incredibly proud of Phoebe’s growth and can't wait to see how far her hard work will take her! Serving Stars: Riley Cervi – 3 aces and a huge momentum boost with the first 7 points of the second set. Brooklyn Tatman – 4 aces, delivering clutch, untouchable serves that piled on key points. Jade Hobson – 3 aces in the second set alone, helping put the win out of reach for Speedway. Offensive Powerhouses: Lexi Wilt – A standout performance with 8 kills, stunning the defense, assisted by Bristol Demaree. Eliza Baird – Consistently strong at the net with 4 kills, assisted by Corah Edwards. With 10 points scored on unreturned serves alone in the second set, our aggressive serving game played a huge role in the comeback. Combine that with powerful offense and tightened teamwork, and this team proved just what’s possible with the right mindset. We’re incredibly proud of how the Stars rallied together and showed true grit on the court. Up next: Lebanon — and we’re ready to bring the heat!
