The Fighting Irish softball team defeated Evansville Memorial 4-2 to advance to the 3A State Championship! Cathedral will face Hanover Central at 7:00 PM on Saturday, June 14. In the fourth inning, Cathedral took a 3-2 lead when Amya Gary '26 scored after a double and Anna Moore '25 hit a solo home run to secure the win the 4-2 win. In the semi-state semifinal, Cathedral defeated New Palestine 4-1. With the bases loaded, Jordyn Hazelwood '28 hit a triple, driving in three runs. Sidney Feczko '26 struck out 10 batters from the mound. The State Championship will be played at Purdue University’s Bittinger Stadium (1324 McCormick Road, West Lafayette). The first pitch is scheduled for 7:00 PM. Tickets will be available on the IHSAA website starting Thursday, June 12. Irish fans are encouraged to wear their Cathedral GREEN to the state championship game!
