It’s the 37th consecutive year the teams have squared off following only three regular season games and two post-season meetings in the 1980s. The Fighting Irish lead the series, 30-20, having won ten of the last 12 contests against the Trojans. In 2024, Cathedral defeated Chatard, 31-7, to gain possession of the traveling Northside K of C Trophy and end the Trojans’ then 24-game winning streak. Xavier Dangerfield rushed 26 times for 201 yards and two touchdowns, while Cam Koers completed 18 of 25 passes for 185 yards. The Fighting Irish defense forced four turnovers and held the Trojans to just 74 rushing yards. Cathedral enters tonight’s game having lost its last two outings including a 24-6 defeat against nationally ranked Cincinnati St. Xavier last Friday. Meanwhile, Bishop Chatard is undefeated after a 33-11 victory over Roncalli last week. The Trojans are averaging 39 points per game this season. Danny Adams, a junior, ranks among the top ten running backs in the state with 495 rushing yards and 9 touchdowns.
