Junior Varsity vs Portage High School (36 - 24) Win Varsity vs Portage High School (42 - 33) Win The Lake Central girls’ basketball program picked up a pair of important road wins on Saturday, sweeping conference opponent Portage in both the JV and varsity contests. The JV Indians set the tone with a 36–24 victory, improving to 10–7 overall and 4–2 in conference play. In the varsity matchup, the Indians completed the sweep with a 42–33 win to move to 11–9 on the season and 4–2 in the conference. Emma Myszak led all scorers with 16 points while also adding 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Diane Jeffries contributed 8 points and 5 rebounds, and Emma Szany chipped in 7 points. Jill Beaderstadt and Neila Ogden anchored the glass with 5 rebounds apiece. Lake Central will return to action on Monday when the Indians travel to compete in the Darrell Kipp Tournament against Hersey High School.
