Girls'/Boys' Basketball Drop DAC Game to Valparaiso and Gymnastics Starts 1-0 in the DAC

Q1 Q2 Q3 Q4 F LC 7 5 15 11 38 Valparaiso 10 20 28 9 67 The Lady Indians hosted top ranked DAC opponent Valparaiso Friday. The Vikings won 67-38 as LC fell to 11-11 overall and 4-3 in the DAC (4th place finish). Emma Myszak scored 14 points and had a pair of steals; Miranda Bates scored 9 points and dished out 4 assists. Jill Beaderstadt added 6 and 7 for the hosts. LC will host Hammond Morton on tomorrow. Q1 Q2 Q3 Q4 F LC 8 7 6 10 31 Valparaiso 0 14 10 16 40 Lake Central dropped a hard fought contest at home on Friday, despite a great defensive effort. The Indians' record fell to 9-5 overall and 1-2 in the DAC. Noah Enyeart poured in a game-high 13 points for LC. Jakob Billmeyer turned in a well-rounded game scoring 8 points and grabbing a team high 7 rebounds. Cooper Kroncke led the defensive effort with 5 steals. The Indians will host the Chesterton Trojans on Friday night. Tonight's game at South Bend Washington was postponed to 2/23 due to weather. Gymnastics hosted Merrillville on Thursday in the opening meet in their DAC schedule (results attached). With a well-rounded performance, the Indians defeated the Pirates 103.875-100.5. Kailynn Patt had a great meet: She was the All-Around, Beam, and Floor (Co) Champion. Gabriella Arroyo equaled Patt on the Floor as Co-Champ. LC has a busy DAC week. They travel to Valparaiso today and host Crown Point on Thursday.
