Weekend Recap: Football Rolls Munster; Girls' XC Wins the Larry James

Fall sports are fully underway; it was an action packed weekend at home and on the road for all Indians' program. Varsity Football--LC hosted the Munster Mustangs in non-conference action. The Indians scored early and often routing the Mustangs 38-0. Girls' XC--The girls cross country team won the Larry James Invite on Saturday with a score of 34. Varsity was led by Macey Thompson who was the overall champion & set the course record with a time of 18:38. Chloe Neal and Lana Bruggeman also placed in the top 10. The JV team placed 3rd overall & were led by Izzy Groszek with a time of 23:05. LC hosts the Rudy Skorupa Invitational this Saturday. Ben Perschon was remarkable finishing in 2nd place overall. Krisopher Garner and Evan Smith each posted top 10 finishes to lead LC. The Indans will host the Rudy Skorupa Invite on Saturday. The decisive goal came late in the game from St. Joe, overshadowing a solid performance by the team. Ayoub Hamed scored the lone goal for the boys' team, while Matt Newton made a key save in goal. Despite the close finish, the team showed resilience and effort throughout the match. LC is now 1-1 overall and will head to Highland today. Girls' Soccer (V/JV)--The Indians earned a 2-0 win against the hosts from South Bend St. Joe. Freshman Claire Windstrand scored a goal, and Junior Phoebe Fogarty also added a goal. Liana Navarro had 2 assists and Olivia Pelot had 32 saves in the win. In the second game, LC lost against Goshen 0-1. Olivia Pelot's 8 saves highlighted the performance. The JV fell to Northridge 0-3. Girls' Golf--In a very strong field at Warsaw the girls' team fired a 347 to finish in 4th place overall as team.
