Girls' Soccer: Lake Central 4 Concord 0 LC traveled to Concord to take on the Minutemen and earned a hard-fought 4-0 victory over the host. Olivia Pelot was perfect behind goal blocking all 4 shots-on-goal attempted. LC 4-0. Goals were scored by Claire Wwidstrand, Lexi Karabatsos, Liana Navarro, and Faty Cervantes. Those goals were assisted by Cervantes, Liv Connelly, Navarro, and Gabby Rossi-Powers. Boys' Soccer: LC 0 Concord 1 The Indians lost a tight battle with Concord Saturday. The team is back in action on Wednesday, September 25th, when they travel to Chesterton H.S. to face the Trojans, in a match that could help decide the DAC. JV begins at 5pm, with varsity to follow. Record: 5-4-3 (4-1) Boys' Tennis: LC 2 Valparaiso 3 (Thursday result) Varsity #1S: Ethan Cordova (LC) def Parker Frailey (V) 7-5, 6-3 #2S: Nick Nightingale (V) def Tony Zervos (LC) 6-0, 6-1 #3S: Lucas Brown (V) def Joe Devine (LC) 6-3, 6-1 #1D: Mitch Sterling / Lucas Gray (V) def Eli Morey / Brandon Baker (LC) 2-6, 6-1, 6-4 #2D: Wade Smith / Keri Conrath (LC) def Kyle Foreman / Logan Brown (V) 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 Girls' XC: LC Wins New Prairie Invitational with a score of 55. They were led by Macey Thompson who was the overall champion running a time of 18:19. We placed 6 girls in the top 40. Macey Thompson (1st), Lana Bruggeman (3rd), Chloe Neal (5th), Aubrey Neal (22nd), Mackenzie Smith (24th) & Roxann Martinez (31st). JV took 3rd overall and they were led by Izzy Groszek who placed 3rd overall! Ben Perschon led the way for LC in 5th place overall; Kristofer Garner was 7th overall and Evan Smith was 17th. The game started fast with Jacob White-Hustler taking the opening kickoff to the house. Cam Reddick added a 60 plus yard TD. The defense gave an exceptional effort. Lake Central travels to Michigan City Friday, and then returns home for Homecoming against Chesterton.
