Boys' Tennis: Lake Central 3 La Porte 2 The boys' Tennis team defeated LaPorte last night by a score of 3 to 2, raising its conference record to 4 wins & 3 losses. Their overall record is 8 wins & 8 losses. Winning for LC were: Ethan Cordova, Eli Morey, Brandon Baker, Wade Smith & Keri Conrath. The JV ended their season by defeating LaPorte by a score of 3 to 2. Winning for LC were: Milan Golubovic, Joe Lin, Ryder Ridgely, Evan Eggebrecht & Shrey Malik. The JV had a great season with an overall record of 11 wins and 3 losses. They also did very well in the DAC with a record of 6 wins & 1 loss. Great Job Boys! And good luck in Sectionals next week. Scorecard attached Girls' Soccer: Lake Central 5 Andrean 0 LC went on the road to square off against Andrean and played well from start to finish. Goal scorers for Lake Central were Liana Navarro, Lyla Cooper, Phoebe Fogarty, Faty Cervantes, and Leah Rocha. These goals were assisted by Bella Soria, Claire Widstrand-2, Leah Rocha, and Parker Reddick. Girls' Volleyball: Lake Central 1 Crown Point 3 The LC varsity volleyball team lost a tough and thrilling match to Crown Point last night. The Indians lost a very tight 4 sets (25-21, 24-26, 28-30, and 23-25). The Indians will play in the Crown Point Invite Saturday. Lexi Iwema had a season high 24 kills and 25 digs Mika Salinas had a season high 20 kills and 18 digs Lauren Smith had 36 assists and 8 digs Frosh Football: Lake Central 43 Michigan City 0 Freshman Football won 43-0 vs Michigan City. The defense led the way shutting out another opponent in 3 straight games. Defensively, the Indians were led by Gavin Feltz, Scout Polletta, and Joey Nichols. Jonquil Sharpe had a tackle for loss in the endzone forcing a safety. Offensively, the Indians were led once again by a potent rushing attack. Kenyon Watson started off the scoring with a 61 yard touchdown run on the opening drive of the game. Matt Tuftedal had two rushing touchdowns from 20 and 47 yards out. Jonquil Sharpe also added two touchdowns of his own on the ground. Michael Denny was 5 of 6 on extra points on the night. Lake Central moves to 5-1 on the season and heads to Chesterton next week to take on the Trojans.
