Lake Central hosted its annual classic on Saturday and brought in three of the top teams in Indiana in their respective classes: Marquette Catholic, McCutcheon, and Fort Wayne Snider. LC opened the day with a win over preseason #1 in 1A Marquette Catholic. After mounting a 18 point lead in the second half the Indians cruised to a 42-31 victory. Ayla Krygier led the way with 14 and freshman Jill Biederstadt had 12. In the second game of the day, the Indians took on Fort Wayne Snider. This was a defense struggle the entire day. The Indians picked up their first loss of the season, falling 40-33. Vanessa Wimberly scored 16 for LC and offered tremendous defensive pressure on their guards all night. The Indians will travel to Penn next Saturday.
