Lake Central High School

Illiana Christian hosted the inaugural IHSAA Sectional for girls' wrestling in Northwest Indiana on Friday. Fifteen schools participated with Lake Central being one of the 15. The Indians sent four wrestlers to Illiana to compete for a sectional title and/or a regional birth. Genevieve Rogers (Fr) wrestled at 115 pounds, Aubree Chraca (Fr) wrestled at 135 pounds and finished in 6th place overall. Leaney Gold-Hurrins (Fr) wrestled at 170 pounds and finished in 5th place overall. Senior Reese Kasprzak finished in 2nd place overall at 110 pounds after winning her first match by fall and then her second match by major decision. Reese has advanced to the Goshen Regional on Friday where she will wrestle for a chance to head to compete in the inaugural State Finals.
