Sophomore cross country runner Macey Thompson has been named 1 of the 12 finalists for the Indiana High School Sports Awards Player of the Year awards banquet. This is hosted in late April and presented by the Indiana Fever and the Indiana Pacers. From Coach Garton on Macey: "Thompson was our #1 runner for every single race this year, she was the individual champion in 7 of our races. She broke the course record at the Larry James Invite as well as our home course; she broke the school record a total of 3 times this season with the final time being a 17:23 which she ran at DAC. Macey was voted Indiana Girls Performer of the week in early September. By the end of the regular season, she was 5th fastest girl in Indiana and the fastest sophomore in Indiana. She was the DAC Champion, Sectional Champion, and Regional Champion, and she was All-State at the state meet placing 4th overall and helped lead her team to a 3rd place finish at the state meet."
