The centralettes traveled to Corteva Coliseum in Indianapolis for the 2025 IHSDTA State Finals. After a dynamic national's performance where the girls made the finals in all 6 field, Lake Central earned 4 State Championship this past weekend. The Junior Varsity dancers earned State Championships in both Pom and Hip Hop and they were the 2nd place finisher in the Jazz category. The Varsity dancers also earned 2-1st place finishes as well as a state runner-up placement. LC was named the State Champion in both the Pom and Jazz categories, and they finished State Runner-up in the Hip Hop category. Also, much congratulations to Coach Kevin Mathis as we was inducted in the IHSDTA Hall of Fame Class of 2025. Coach Mathis' tenure with LC began in 1989; and in 1994, he founded the Indiana High School Dance Team Association (IHSDTA). During this time, he also served as the dance coach at Purdue University in Lafayette. Coach Mathis has helped lead our dance team to over 60 combined State Championships and more than 20 National Championships. This was a well-deserved honor and recognition!
