In its inaugural season, the boys' volleyball team is one of four teams left standing that will play in Lafayette on Saturday for the IHSAA State Finals at Mackey Arena. To reach this point, Lake Central has completed an undefeated DAC season (14-0), won the IHSAA Sectional Champion, and won the IHSAA Regional Championship. On Saturday, the Indians played PCC power Boone Grove in the regional semi-finals. Boone had previously defeated LC in 4 during the regular season. This match was back-and-forth and went 5 sets. SETS S1 S2 S3 S4 S5 Lake Central 25 16 25 17 15 Boone Grove 19 25 21 25 12 LC moved onto the Regional Championship, against another PCC power in Washington Township. WT was one of the top teams all season and the Indians dismantled them in 3 sets to head to Lafayette. SETS S1 S2 S3 Lake Central 25 25 25 Wash Twp 10 16 20 LC will play Indianapolis Cathedral in the final four on Saturday morning at 10AM CST. Following the first semis Roncalli will play Fishers. The championship will be at 5PM CST.
