Girls' T/F Finishes 2nd in Regional: Delaney Oberholtzer, Macey Thompson, and Sophia Palmer are Regional Champions/Golf Defeats CP on Senior NIght and Moves into 1st

Girls' T/F IHSAA Regionals at Portage High School LC--2nd Place The girls' track and field team competed in the Portage Regional last night for the opportunity to win a team title and advance individuals to the State Finals. To advance to the state meet at North Central High School next Saturday, " 1st, 2nd and 3rd place regional winners in all individual events and relays plus any individual or relay team meeting the 3 Participant Standard in the regional finals of their event." Lake Central did not win the team title but finished in second place, just shy of the DAC winner and last year's regional champion Valparaiso. Valparaiso finished with a 103 team score and Lake Central scored 85.8 points (no other teams came within 25 of Lake Central). The Indians junior varsity and varsity teams both knocked off Crown Point. LC has moved into a tie for first place in the DAC for the regular season. The DAC Championships at Sand Creek on Tuesday, June 3rd will decide the champion. Troy Howell and Evan Sullivan led LC yesterday with a 36 and a 38 respectively. Team Scores: 1. LC Varsity - 161 2.
