LP Girls Swimming and Diving Falls to Warsaw 111-71

It's possible to win a majority of events at a swim meet and still loose. The Slicers Girls team did exactly that today. We knew going in that Warsaw was much deeper than us, but our girls came out and gave it their best. There were PR's galore, and I was extremely happy with their performance. The Slicers opened the meet with a win in the 200 Medley Relay with: Cali Hatala (backstroke), Grace Caviston (breaststroke), Noor Hakim (butterfly), and Isabel Barron (freestyle). Cali Hatala won the 100 Backstroke, and was second in the 200 Individual Medley with a lifetime PR of 2:26.96! Grace Caviston won both the 50 Freestyle and 100 Breaststroke. Her 50 Free time was a lifetime PR! Noor Hakim had an excellent 100 Butterfly, finishing a close second. Isabel Barron dominated the 100 Freestyle, winning by over 2 seconds! LaPorte finished the meet with a victory in the 400 Freestyle Relay. It was a close race, and the girls: Barron, Hatala, Caviston and Hakim all did their part to earn the W. The Slicers record falls to 12-5. They travel to Chesterton next Thursday. Always proud. Go Slicers! Coach Brahim
