The LaPorte Girls Swimming and Dive team lost to a very strong Chesterton Trojans team 149-34. We knew what we were facing going in, and I told the girls, if they did their best and executed solid swims, I'd be proud of them. They not only did that, they achieved several lifetime and season best swims. In the 200 Medley Relay, Isabel Barron anchored to a season best 25.64 Freestyle split. Her 4th place finish in the 50 Freestyle Individual race was also a season PR. Michelle Clark finished 3rd in Diving with a lifetime best score of 155.00. She also dropped 4 seconds in her 100 Freestyle, to finish 5th. Londyn Pravecek also dropped big time in the 100 Free. Grace VanHook dropped 6 seconds in her 500 Freestyle with a lifetime PR of 6:38.52. Grace Caviston had an amazing 100 Breaststroke, finishing in a Lifetime PR of 1:11.47! It's always tough to race a team as deep and talented as the Trojans, but our girls can hold their heads up and be proud of their effort and determination. Their record falls to 12-6. They host Crown Point next Tuesday. Also, Michelle Clark travels to Hobart Saturday for the Diving Invitational. Always proud. Go Slicers! Coach Brahim
