The LaPorte Slicers Boys Swim Team lost to the Crown Point Bulldogs 127-55 tonight. The Slicers, swimming with only 8 boys, have been decimated by injuries and illness the past few weeks. However, the boys who swam really outdid themselves. James Quadlin won the 200 Individual Medley with a lifetime PR of 2:09.81. Quadlin also won the 100 Breaststroke, just missing his lifetime PR. Carson Retseck won the 50 Freestyle with a come from behind victory. Retseck finished second in the 100 Freestyle, with a lifetime PR of 50.79! Noah Waak had a lifetime PR in the 100 Freestyle, dropping nearly 3 seconds! Waak and Hugo Luna-Zetina both had lifetime PR's in the 100 Backstroke. Milo Jimenez had a 3 second drop in his 200 Freestyle, cruising to a lifetime PR. Jimenez had a season PR in his 500 Free of 5:54.42. Malachi Talbot had a huge drop of 8 seconds, to achieve a lifetime PR in the 500 Freestyle of 5:40.31! It's tough when 1/3 of your team is either sick or hurting, but these boys stood tall and had a fantastic meet. The Slicers host Merrillville next Tuesday. Their record falls to 9-6. Always proud. Go Slicers! Coach Brahim
