Slicer Gymnasts 2nd @ East-West Invite The Slicer Girls' Gymnastics Team placed 2nd at the Elkhart East-West Invite scoring a 99.3. Elkhart won with a 106.35, East Noble 3rd 97.15, Michigan City 4th 91.7, New Prairie 5th 72.65, Westville 6th 64.2. Junior Evie Travis scored season highs in all events: vault 9.1 4th, bars 8.7, 2nd, beam 4th 8.85, floor 4th 9.1, 3rd al-around 35.75. Sophomore Kate Doty also placed in all events: vault 9th 8.55, bars 9th 7.0, beam 8th 8.05, floor 2nd 9.2, all-around 6th 32.8. Junior Genny Witulski was 12th on vault 8.4 and 9th on beam 7.85. Freshman Molly Thibideau was 16th on bars 5.9, 10th on beam 7.65, and 16th on floor 6.7. Freshman Makenna Minnick was 10th on vault 8.5 and floor 7.9. Freshman Maddie Johnson was 13th on bars 6.5. The girls gained confidence today to help prepare them for a busy week where they have three meets. Tuesday they host Valparaiso and Thursday Portage, and Saturday they travel to Merrillville.
