Slicers fall at home to #2 Crown Point, 48-42

The Slicers Boys Varsity basketball team fell at home Friday night in a thrilling matchup to #2 ranked Crown Point, 48-42. The Slicers turned a 4 point halftime deficit into a 9 point lead, opening the third quarter with a 15-2 run, before the visiting Bulldogs began chipping away. The game remained a one possession game deep into the final period, with La Porte getting the ball back with 1:30 left, down three. La Porte had two chances down the stretch to tie, but shots did not fall. The spirited effort by the Slicers was led by Tim Knoll with 17 pts, 6 rebs and 3 steals. Griffin Ott-Large had 12 points, 6 assists, while Sawyer Tonagel had 5 pts, 7 rebs, and Preston Scheidt added 4 pts, 4 rebs. The Slicers fell to 12-5 on the year, and return to action Saturday evening at Concord.
