Slicers improve to 14-6 with 64-43 win at KV

The Slicers Boys Varsity Basketball Team had a nice bounce back victory at Kankakee Valley Saturday afternoon, defeating the hosts 64-43. La Porte jumped out to a 43-13 first half lead, punctuated by three Destin Matzke dunks, including one as time expired heading into halftime. La Porte had a balanced attack with 7 players in the scoring column in the game. Griffin Ott-Large led the way with 25 points, 8 assists. Destin Matzke had 11 points, 9 rebounds, Preston Scheidt had 9 points and Aidan Allen had 7 points and Sawyer Tonagel added 5 points, 7 boards in the game. The Slicers will be back in action next Friday, February 13 against Merrillville at Slicer Gym.
