Kollar's Strong Eye Leads La Porte Junior Varsity Slicers Past Merrillville April 16, 2026 vs. Merrillville Aubree Kollar showed a strong eye at the plate on Thursday, as Kollar walked four times while leading La Porte Junior Varsity Slicers to a 15-0 victory over Merrillville. La Porte Junior Varsity Slicers won thanks in part to 10 runs in the first inning. Logan drew a walk, scoring one run, Curbelo drew a walk, scoring one run, Meredith drew a walk, scoring one run, Moreno drew a walk, scoring one run, Kollar drew a walk, scoring one run, Logan drew a walk, scoring one run, and Curbelo was struck by a pitch, driving in a run. La Porte Junior Varsity Slicers extended their early lead with two runs in the bottom of the second thanks to RBI walks by Moreno and Kollar. La Porte Junior Varsity Slicers added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Resendez walked, Allen was struck by a pitch, and Escobedo walked, each scorLawerance took the loss for Merrillville. The hurler went two innings, giving up three runs on two hits, striking out none and walking six. Culp stepped in the circle first for La Porte Junior Varsity Slicers. The hurler gave up zero hits and zero runs over one inning, striking out two and walking two. Gilbert began the game for Merrillville. The hurler allowed two hits and 12 runs over two innings, striking out none and walking 14. Culp, Curbelo, Escobedo, and Conrad each collected one hit for La Porte Junior Varsity Slicers. Escobedo, Moreno, Kollar, and Allen each drove in one run for La Porte Junior Varsity Slicers. La Porte Junior Varsity Slicers had patience at the plate, tallying 20 walks for the game. Logan and Kollar led the team with four walks each. Logan, Curbelo, Escobedo, Moreno, Meredith, and Kollar each stole multiple basing one run. Allen earned the win for La Porte Junior Varsity Slicers. The hurler allowed two hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out three and walking none. La Porte Junior Varsity Slicers didn't commit a single error in the field. Long had the most chances in the field with four.
