Jake Dickman’s Clutch Hitting And Nolan Darrell’s No Hitter Propel La Porte Slicers JV To Victory Over Elkhart Lions JV

Jake Dickman drove in four runs on two hits to lead La Porte Slicers JV past Elkhart Lions JV 11-0 on Saturday. Dickman hit a home run to left field in the fifth inning, scoring three runs, and doubled in the second inning, scoring one. La Porte got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Andrew Colon hit a sacrifice fly, Wes Kaiser singled down the left field line, and Brayden Watson scored on a throwing error, each scoring one run. The Slicers added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Quinn White singled to center field, and Dickman doubled, each scoring one run. La Porte also added to the early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Ryan Kavanaugh singled to center field, and Zack Donah grounded out, each scoring one run. The Slicers added four more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning on two hits. Madix Splix hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and Dickman homered to left field, scoring three runs. Nolan Darrell earned the win for La Porte. The hurler allowed zero hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out nine and walking none. The Slicers collected 10 hits in the game. Kaysen Henriott, White, Splix, and Dickman each collected two hits for La Porte. Henriott, White, and Dickman each stole multiple bases for the Slicers. The La Porte Slicers JV will next be in action Tuesday, April 28th when they will take on Michigan City at home. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 pm at DeCamp Field.
