La Porte Slicers JV won big over Wheeler Junior Varsity Bearcats 15-3 on Monday. La Porte got on the board in the top of the first inning after Ian Mitchell singled, scoring one run, Wes Kaiser singled, scoring one run, and Kaysen Henriott grounded out, scoring two runs. The Slicers added to their early lead in the top of the second inning when Mitchell lined out, scoring one run, Kaiser singled, scoring one run, and Andrew Colon singled, scoring two runs. Henriott earned the win for La Porte. The righty surrendered two hits and two runs over four innings, striking out three and walking three. Quinn White appeared in relief for the Slicers. La Porte piled up 12 hits in the game. Colon provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led the Slicers with three runs batted in. The first baseman went 2-for-3 on the day. Kaiser went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead La Porte in hits. White collected two hits for the Slicers in two at bats. La Porte had a strong eye at the plate, tallying six walks for the game. The Slicers stole four bases in the game. La Porte turned one double play in the game. The La Porte Slicers JV will next be in action on Tuesday, May 12th, when they will travel to Valparaiso to take on the Vikings. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 pm.
