Lowell Red Devils got on the board in the first inning after Ryan Wellwerts singled, scoring one run. LaPorte Slicer Varsity flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the first, scoring five runs on four hits to take the lead, 5-1. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Jon Rinkel that drove in two. LaPorte Slicer Varsity added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Lowell Red Devils committed an error, and CT Rusboldt singled down the left field line, each scoring one run. Joey Kirk earned the win for LaPorte Slicer Varsity. The pitcher allowed four hits and four runs (two earned) over five and two-thirds innings, striking out seven and walking four.
