Slicers are continue their streak of good form by winning their in a row and topped a local rival. Very well played match by both sides as it was end to end action. Scoring started off by a well placed free kicked in the upper right corner by Senior Sofie Joseph. A few minutes later the Slicer goalie Ella Wallace made an outstanding save and controlled the deflection from a penalty kick awarded to the Wolves. That save kept the Slicers momentum and secured a 1-0 halftime lead. Shortly after the break the Wolves tied the score with a nicely placed shot from top of the box in the lower right corner. Play continued end to end and the Slicers started to take control half way through the second half. Slicers broke the dead lock from a free kick from Joseph hitting the crossbar and rebounding back into the field where Senior Amelia Hakes drove hit home with a solid strike and aggressive follow-up. Slicers continued the pressure when Senior Sam Deckard had some wonderful ball work and put away the final score to seal the victory. Excellent team performance by the Slicers from all positions and provided the first victory over the Wolves for this wonderful Senior class. Slicers next fixture is on Thursday night against Westville and will have a celebration for the final home match for the 2024 graduating Senior class come on out and celebrate their high school career and wish them the best in the next phases of their lives.
