Boys Cross Country Finishes 2nd in Nail Biter

The LaPorte Boys cross country team finished 2nd place at the New Prairie sectional this morning to qualify for the Regional championship next Saturday. LP fell by a minuscule 2 points to Penn High School in extremely muddy and wet conditions. The Slicers were led by seniors Brayden Sobecki who finished runner up and Preston Peterson who finished in 8th place. The Slicers scoring was rounded out by Liam Lilly (9th), Hunter Quadlin (11th), and Charles Tonagel (13th). Freshman Jack Miskowicz and Evan Howes finished 28th and 46th respectively. The Slicers look to finish as one of the top 5 teams in next weeks regional to advance to the State meet later this month.
