The Slicers hosted the Warsaw Tigers today and won 110-75. Warsaw showed up ready to race, and there were several close races, however, LaPorte won every event except Diving. LaPorte opened the meet with a win in the 200 Medley Relay behind: Jakob Schroeder (backstroke), Abbas Hakim (breaststroke), Otto Wildhart (butterfly), and Chaise Adrian (freestyle). The Slicers then went 1-2 in the 200 Freestyle with Chaise Adrian and Roman Garay. Adrian also won the 500 Freestyle. Gavin Crail and Abbas Hakim went 1-2 in both the 200 Individual Medley, and 100 Breaststroke. Crail had top-notch swims all day, and is definitely the Swimmer of the Day. The Freshman standout continues to get stronger and emerge as a top performer on the team. Otto Wildhart won both the 50 Freestyle and 100 Butterfly. Jakob Schroeder won both the 100 Freestyle and 100 Backstroke. Schroeder had an outstanding PR in the 100 Freestyle, as he gets closer to breaking the 50 second barrier. The 200 Freestyle Relay of Crail, Wildhart, Allen Fuller, and Adrian won handily. The Slicers finished the meet with a close win in the 400 Freestyle Relay behind Garay, Schroeder, Crail, and Hakim. A shoutout to Roman Garay for stepping up in the 200 Freestyle, and 100 Backstroke. With Diver/Swimmer Andrew Hayes out due to injury, several Slicers needed to step up today, and Garay sure did. Caleb Johnson also stepped up in his 100 Butterfly. The Slicers travel to Chesterton next year, on Thursday, January 4th. LaPorte's record climbs to 12-2. Always proud. Go Slicers! Coach Brahim
