Slicer Gymnasts Place 3rd out of 8 teams at the Merrillville Invite and lose to Merrillvile in dual meet that was rescheduled due to weather, 93.95 to 102.95. The girls earned their highest score of the season and had many season high scores. Evie Travis was 12th on vault - 8.45, 10th on bars - 7.75, 3rd on beam - with a season high score of 9.0, 2nd on floor - with a season high score of 8.95 and 5th overall with another season high of 34.15. Senior Ava Penziol was 17th on vault - 8.25, 9th on bars - 7.85, 12th on beam - 7.85, 6th on floor - 8.7, and 9th overall 32.65. Genny Witulski was 24th on vault - 7.85, 25th on bars 4.45, 21st on beam - 6.9, 16th on floor with a season high of 7.95, and 21st overall with a season high of 27.15. Aerabella Churchill was 30th on vaulth - 7.45 and 29th on beam - 4.0. Another highlight included Travis winning the freshman handstand contest and the overall handstand contest of all grades. The Slicers host Plymouth, New Prairie, Westville, Morgan Township, and Knox on Tuesday, January 30 at 5:30pm.
