The Slicers placed 7th at their Sectionals meet today in Crown Point out of 14 teams, scoring their 2nd highest score of the season. Senior Ava Penziol competed her final meet of her HS career. Penziol scored an 8.75 on vault, 18th, 7.325 on bars-32nd, 7.85 on beam-24th, 8.35 on floor-25th, and 32.275 all-around for 21st. She has been a true inspiration to LaPorte Gymnastics and we will miss her dearly. Freshman Evie Travis scored a 8.625 on vault-23rd, 8.025 on bars - a season high for 18th, 9.1 on beam for 8th, just 1.225 tenths from moving onto Regionals, 8.4 on floor for 25th, and 34.15 all-around for 14th. Freshman Genny Witulski scored 7.95 on vault for 42, 4.775 on bars for 45th, 7.125 on beam for 34th, and 7.125 on floor for 41st, and 26.975 all-around for 35th. Sophomore Jules Schadt scored 7.75 on vault for 45th, 4.95 on bars for 42nd, 4.7 on beam for 47th, 5.575 on floor for 48th, 22.975 all-around for 40th. We are very proud of their efforts and look forward to next season! Congratulations girls!
